TV Flanders and CanalDigital change satellite

From April the 1st, 2016 the channels of TV Flanders and CanalDigital are only available via the Astra 3 satellite (23.5 degrees East), and no longer via the Astra 1 satellite (19.2 degrees East).

What does this mean for you?

  • On the Astra 3 satellite the channels are available in HD quality. That is much better then the SD quality on the Astra 1 satellite.
  • Because the Astra 3 satellite is less 'powerfull', we recommend a satellite dish antenna of at least 80 cm or bigger. With a satellite dish of 60-65 cm you will have reception till the South of France and North of Spain, but with 'less wheather' the signal will give interruption. That's why we recommend a diameter of at least 80 cm.
  • With a Duo LNB you can receive both the Astra 3 as the Astra 1 satellite. These are suitable for a satellite dish antenna of 80 cm.
  • Is TV Flanders and/or CanalDigital sufficient for you? Then a Duo LNB isn't necessary, but will do a single LNB like the Inverto Black Ultra Single LNB.

Satellite tv during camping

What is mentioned above, also applies to (automatic) satellite antenna systems on campers, caravans, mobile homes, motorhomes and/or trucks which have in most cases a diameter of 65 cm or 85 cm. A dish antenna of 65 cm is sufficient for the reception of TV Flanders and CanalDigital in South-France, North-Spain and South-Norway. Do you travel further away? Then we recommend a larger dish antenna. Tip: because travel goals can always change, we recommend -when buying a new automatic satellite system- always a 85 cm diameter. This will give you the most flexibility. For now and in the near future.
